The author did a great job keeping the reader busy, there is some action, a lot of romance, a few hold your breath moments. I really enjoyed this, it is the first time I have read anything my this author. My heart did go out to Ru with his life ending very soon he took it for what it was worth and took on another mission, ready to go down in flames. Lis being kidnapped and dropped off with a note saying opps sorry wrong person have a nice life. They couldn't have left her on a more dangerous planet.

I enjoyed watching these two getting to know each other as their life hold on the balance a few times. I enjoyed all the character, I thought they added a lot to the story. Has a good plot, thrilling and exciting. I look forward to reading more from this author.

Ru knows that he doesn't have long time to live because he hasn't found his mate. So he's taken one more mission and hopes to complete it so he can collect the money and live out his last days in peace. But while on his mission he finds a human female that was mistakenly kidnapped and brought to this alien planet and left. He knows right away that she's his mate but she doesn't trust him at all because of the ordeal she's been through.

Lis has been on her own ever since she was kidnapped and left on the alien planet. She tried to get help from the aliens who lived there but they aren't friendly at all so when Ru finds her and tries to help her, she's not willing to trust him at all. He has to blast her with his stun weapon and bring her back to his ship in order to place a translator on her so they can communicate.

All she wants is to go home but he knows if he can't get her to accept him as her mate that he will die. He's not going to tell her that though and asks her to give him a chance in the time it takes for him to get his mission completed. She agrees to give him a chance while they are together but she actually starts to feel something for him pretty straight away and she doesn't understand why. He doesn't really explain why she might feel something for him or about how he'll die if she doesn't agree to be his mate.

Watching them get to know each other and fall for each other was really fun to watch. But I would have liked more of a back story as to what Lis endured after being kidnapped since we were just told it was bad but not what happened. I would have liked more of a back story on both of them as well to get to know them both better. But this was a fun little alien story.

Lis has been kidnapped by aliens from earth and subjected to
, " testing " . After a while , she has been dumped on a very distant planet with a few protein bars and some water !!! And this planet is NOT a very welcoming planet to off- worlders !!!
Lis needs a way off this hostile planet , and Ru wants to help her !!! Problem solved , right ???
Well.... There is that small thing of Lis being his ," denya " , his mate......but Lis just wants a ride .
Of course she wouldn't turn down a ride between the sheets, but Ru wants more !!! This book was sad and funny and had quite a few action scenes that I thought were great !! Would definitely read more about this world !!!

I liked the story line. I really love the sci-fi romance novels and most of the stories are aliens from a dying planet. This is a new twist. If the alien isn't mated he dies. So tis both. I enjoyed the book, love the heroine and hero. Waking up in the middle of nowhere after an all nighter is bad enough. Ended up on an alien planet, that's seriously screwed up. A lot of other books would've sent her to the auction and that's that. There's an HEA. It works. I read the 2nd one and enjoyed it. These are standalones. I've been starting so many sets of books and then not being finished its drove me mad on KU. I don't have to worry about that here.

The story has a bit of a whirlwind/wavy hands kind of beginning to get Lis to Polia... But given the fun and interesting story that unfolds, the beginning is easy to forgive, and actually feeds in to some humor later.

Ruwen is living like a man with no future. Taking dangerous jobs. Living life on the edge. Enjoying all the fun, pleasure, and risks the Universe has to offer... until he meets Lis, who brings with her the most unexpected thing of all... hope.

This done in one quick read is a lot of fun. Different than the Detyen Legion / Warrior stories, which are focused more on revenge for what happened to their home world, this centers on the few survivors doing just that, surviving, and finding strength where they can.

I've read a lot of middling to bad alien romance and this subverts (almost) all of the most tired and overused tropes. Humans are tough not delicate glass bobbles. MC is competent and brave. There are fated mates and the leading guy dies without his, but it's handled realistically and with sensitivity and respect for the lady as a partner and individual.

Lis has been dumped by cruel captors on a hostile planet light years from earth. Ru is an alien who finds himself by chance on a mission to the same planet while she's trying to get home. It looks like Ru is Lis' best chance of getting out of there alive, but can she trust him? Once in a while a book comes along that is so skillfully written it takes your breath away. I fell for the characters early on and I couldn't stop turning pages. Then I got to a moment when I was so invested in them, I couldn't bear to read through the latest danger in case it broke my heart, but then I had to find out what happened and I read on. The setting and world-building was economical and efficient but expansive and you got the sense of the vastness of space (if mere earthlings can ever). A wonderful read and I loved it.
